But the army had constructed a road through lands of private people and attempting to release this road today.

Kirishantha de Silva was also scheduled to participate in this event. The event to hand over the land and roads is to be held in front of KKS Railway Station today at around 10.00 a.m.

vallai – Araly Road is to be fully handed over to people today. The stretch of Road from Varuththalai Vilan Pillaiyar Kovil Road to Kadduvan junction was under the control of the Army. People’s representatives and state officials have insisted that this stretch should be released to make the travelling of the people easier. Army also had consented to this. People expected that this stretch also will be released today.

However,  the Army will not release this stretch today. Instead, it had constructed a new road across private lands From Temple Road to Mallakam – Kadduwan Road, and will be releasing this road today.

It is notable that the Army had not got any approval to construct this road through private lands.
