Kadduvan Junction released by the army after 26 years of occupation
The Kadduvan Junction which was under the occupation of the army for 26 years was released by the army yesterday evening for use by the public.
600 meters on Vallai – Araly road and 300 Meters on Vallai – Kadducvan Mallakam Road were from occupation of the Army.When 201 acre were released in Kankesanthurai, Kurumbasiddy, and Varuththalaivilan areas were released on 25th of last month, these road stretches were not released with them.
Instead, Army constructed a new road across private lands. Following the protest of the owners of the lands, the District Secretariat officials held negotiations with the Commander of the Army – Jaffna, and consequent to these negotiations, the road stretches were released yesterday evening by the Army. Through this, around 6 acre of private lands were also released.
