Migratory Sinhalese Fishermen ask Northern Governor for Lands for them for Fishing
The Sinhalese fishermen who is engaged in fishing in Kokkilai area have met the Northern Governor to them lands to put up their Vadis.
This meeting had occurred day before yesterday at the Governor’s Secretariat.
Sinhalese fishermen had come and put up Vadis in Kokkilai, Mullaitheevu.Tamil fishermen are complaining that the Sinhalese Fishermen had occupied their lands and engaging in illegal fishing. When lands were given to Tamil Fishermen, the Fishermen objected to it.
The Fishermen asked the Governor for lands them in Kokkilai. The Governor had over the phone had inquired Karaithuraipattu Divisional Secretary, whether such possibilities exists.
