14 former militants register themselves for Medical Examination at the CM’s Office

14 former militants have registered their details so far at the Northern CM’s Secretariat for Medical Examinations.

In the past few days  former militants have indicated before the Task Force for Opinion collecting on Reconciliation deliberate poisonous injections being administered on them and chemical laced food being served to them in detention.

Recently the CM had requested all the members of the NPC to identify and submit details former militants who had died, diseased after releasing from rehabilitation and other militants for the purpose of finding out the truth about the allegation and if true, to bring out this genocide perpetrated on former Tamil militants.

Thus 14 former militants have registered themselves saying they need Medical Examination. It had been revealed that large number of released militants is affected with high mental stresses because of the broadly discussed Poison- Injection affair.

CM’s request came as a measure to subdue the stresses of the militants. Action had been taken to submit the militants to Medical Examinations of Medical Experts at Teaching Hospital, Jaffna. Although there were suggestions that the American Medical team be requested to conduct the Examination, they declined the request as they have not come equipped for the examination.
