We will go into Vali North within 3 Months: Vali North people warns the Government

The Good Governance Government is also cheating us who were subjected to atrocities by Mahindha’s government, People’s Organization for Vali North Resettlement accused yesterday. We will transgress  into Vali North and settle there in at least temporary houses within three months they said.

National Fishermen cooperation Movement and the People’s Organization for Resettlement of Vali-North got together and held a media conference yesterday Yarl Padi Inn.

The Representatives of People’s Organization for Resettlement of Vali North further said that, the President Maithripala Sirisena who visited welfare centres promised that, the Vali North people will be resettled within three months. Those promises were not fulfilled but, it had been announced that 5 villages will not be released and the people who will lose their lands are promised 2 perches of land and  attractive compensation

Even Ban-kee – Moon did not pay any attention on our protest. We are not ready to believe any politicians. We have decided to go into Vali North and settle around Palaly St.Antony’s church. We request the associations acting on behalf of the resettling people, undergraduates of University of Jaffna and university community and the general public to cooperate with us.
