Action should be taken against Sumanarathne Thero, behaving indecently: Ariyanenthiran, Ex.MP

I strongly condemn the barbaric behavior of the saffron robed Ampitiya Sumanarathna Thero of the Batticaloa Vihare. This indecent Bikku is a curse on Batticaloa, P.Ariyanenthiran, Ex-MP of the Batticaloa.

He has said so in a press release released by him, condemning the behavior of the Buddhist Bikku of the Baticaloa Mangala Vihare.

When the Divisional Secretary,Grama Officer and other officials went to Paddipalai, in Manmunai Southwest DS Division of Batticaloa District, shaffron robed Ampitiya Sumanarathna thero had vituperated them in very foul language.

This incident had occurred when the above Officials had gone to investigate and stop  a land encroachment attempt reported to be occurring there.The Mangala Oya Police who were present there did not take any action on the Bikku. The same Bikku had already attempted several times in 2014 to enter the Paddipalai Divisional Secretariat and assault the Divisional Secretary. A case had been filed on him regarding this.

Robed in shaffron, this Bikku had unleashed racism on Tamil people like Khaki clad Army Officer.His activities cannot be allowed any further.The Good Governance Government should take legal action against his activities and the relevant Buddhist Organization should transfer this Bikku out of Batticaloa District, he has said.
