Remembering LTTE war dead prohibited, declares State Minister for Defence, Ruwan Wijewardene
The State Minister for Defence, Ruwan Wijewardene announced yesterday that, legal action will be taken against anyone try to remember the war dead of the LTTE.
He said this to the media while commenting on a statement by a Member of NPC, M.K. Sivajilingam, to the effect that, the Tamil people have all the rights to remember LTTE ward dead, who have laid their lives on behalf of the Tamil people.
Speaking in a media conference on Saturday, Sivajiling said that the Maveerar Day will be observed in Nallur on the 27th and that he and the Tamil people have all the rights to remember their ward dead.
The State Minister for Defence who commented on this statement had said that no permission had been granted to commemorate the war dead of LTTE and categorically announced that if any one try to contravene and commemorate the LTTE war dead, strong legal action will be taken against them.
