Don’t consider the patience of the Muslims as weakness, warns the Eastern Leader of the Opposition

Whenever the Muslim Society was crushed they have always kept their patience and have been an example in helping to establish peace in the country. But some are thinking the patience we keep as weakness, said the Leader of the Opposition, M.S.Uthuma Lebbe.

He was speaking in a special get together of Muslim youth held Amparai – Oluvil area.

Elaborating further he said, the Muslim society kept patient when they were oppressed by the chauvinist and when the armed struggle of the Tamil people was turned against them.

Some racist think that the patience the Muslim people keeping is their weakness. Some racist forces are conspiring to some or the other create a racial conflict between the Sinhala and Muslim Communities.

At this juncture the Muslim youth should act with patience, he said.
