Stop construction of Army Camp on Maveerar Thuyillumilla grounds, in Amparai, Kanchikudicharu

The Secretary of the Alternatively abled society has requested that the construction of Army Camp in the Amparai/  Kanchikudichcharu Maveerar Thuyilumillam be stopped immediately.

In the current political context, a situation had evolved where the former Maveerar Thuyillumills could be preserved as Memorial shrines. Hence the our representatives of the people who are with the ruling party should come forward to stop this desecration he said. MPc., Kalaiarasan had earlier paid a visit to the spot and had said that it is not acceptable that an Army Camp is being built on the very our respected  dead had been interred.

The Secretary of the Differently abled  Association gave out the above request after accompanying Kalaiarasan to the spot.

Unfortunately, a situation prevailed in Batticaloa and Amparai districts this year, where Commemorations could not be held in the Maveerar Thuyillumillams in the East.But when we came here with an intention of  transforming the  Maveerar Thuyillumillams into Maveerar Memorial,  we found that the Army had occupied the area and action is being taken to construct an Army camp centering on the former Maveerar Thuyillumillam, he further said.

Our Maveerars are buried there. It is the opinion of the people that they  should be allowed to commemorate their Maveerars.
