I consider the Dawn of the Tamil People’s Council as a will of the Almighty, says C.V.Wigneswaran
While saying that, “I consider the dawn of Tamil People’s Council as a will of the Almighty. I take much pleasure in participating in this great meeting on the completion of one year in existence of the Tamil People’s council.”, the NPC CM, C.V.Wigneswaran said that, ” which has caused changes in thinking, from a position of, ‘anything the government is ok, people will accept’ to ‘our people will welcome only this, otherwise people will reject us.’.
He said so in a meeting held in Jaffna to celebrate the completion of one year after inauguration of TPC.
We submitted our constitutional proposal to the Government, with a core concept that we should live with legal ratification and with the right of ruling ourselves in a way that the places where Tamil people are traditionally living over the periods, being continued to be identified in that way.
That is the time when we announced the aspirations of the Tamil people publicly.from that moment onwards we are insisting opinion that the Government cannot exclude the concerns of the bottom level Tamil people.
In the post war period, the voices of our representative have failed to sound.I am not sure whether they thought that we had been defeated in war… how can we ask for anything.
But, I feel that they have forgotten about what is the attitude of the people and it is their duty to reflect them.
Instead of speaking in the Parliament in either Sinhala or English about the tribulations, aspirations and the concerns of the Tamil people, they speak about them in Tamil and nobody take notice of what they say.
