Army cheat again: Release a rocky beach area unsuitable for fishing in the name of Urany

The people who went to witness the so called “Release of Urany” was highly disappointed as army had only released a rocky area which could not be approached by fishing boats from the sea. People had condemned that the naming of a different place as Urany and releasing it, is an act with interior motives.

Earlier the Army announced that Urany docking area is being released with the Reconciliation week in view. The people who went to participate in the event of releasing Urany was greatly disappointed by the area which was actually released.

The people said that the Original Urany docking area had four points of docking namely, Kappalthurai, Ootalady, Oodakkarai and Palanthalady. Without releasing any one of them the Army had selected Avalai junction sans any docking point, and actually a crematorium, naming it as Urany.

“ I am a son of this soil. I had engaged in fishing from here in my young days. Urany had four docking points. Not one of them had been released. At least they could have released one point on a goodwill basis. One of the earlier points should be released soon.” Said the Parish Priest of the area Rev.Fr.C.J.Antony Bala.

You cannot get into sea even on foot. It is rocky here. How can you put down boats here? There is a docking point just  100 meter away. It could have been useful if they had released that point.: , said Fernandous, a fisherman of the area.
