Tamils will never subjugate themselves, bows Wigneswaran in the TPC meeting in Trincomalee
While saying that, if the Sinhalese people behave in way to enslave the Tamil people, they will tend to fight back, the Chief Minister of Northern Provincial Council and a Co-Chair of the TPC, C.V.Wigneswaran said that the Tamil Tradition never considered fighting back a big issue. But our people will not like anybody trying to subjugate them.
The Executive Committee meeting was held yesterday from 10.00 a.m. in a hotel in Trincomalee and the CM said as above participating in the meeting. Our organization is a people’s organization. We have a diverse membership who had come from all over the country. We have gathered here to discuss the current situation of the people and what could be done for their redemption.
If we list out our voyages so far, it is very clear that we have attracted people without any discrimination. It is also our strength that the Diaspora people also had labored for this.
All these days were creating awareness among Tamil people. Now the necessity has risen that the Sinhalese people should be made aware of our position without party discrimination. Sinhala people are eager to learn our sorrows and our concerns but the English and Sinhala Media bosses are all out to prevent this. Muslim people are getting there rights bartering their assistance to the other faction. Our traditional pride and prestige will allow such kind of barter. We are permanent citizens of this country. We don’t need to barter anything. That is our attitude all these days. It is not wrong. But we should be aware of the reality.
I am not against demonstrations and struggles. But whatever we do should give us due gains. For this we need a window for exchanging our views with the Sinhala I presume. The foreigners who come to meet me come in a state of being brainwashed by the Government. Only myself try to change their views. You also could use your high level contacts to do this.
The Greek Ambassador asked me why I am insisting on Federal system. He showed Chech and Yugoslavia where federalsystem had induced secession. I in return showed him England and Scotland as well as Canada and Quebeck, where separation was rejected by the Minorities. Therefore it is essential that while awareness in our people politically, we should share our ideas with Sinhala people multi national representatives, he said.
