Where is the Government Report on People made to disappear? Demands CM

The reports of investigation made by the Government should be published said the CM, C.V.Wigneswaran.

A discussion between the CM and the District representatives of people forcefully made to disappear in North and East was held in the CM’s Secretariat yesterday. Commenting on the meeting to media men as above.

There are different struggles undertaken in each district. The impacts of the delaying of the solutions to these struggles were discussed in this meeting. It was also discussed as to what action the government should take to find solutions for the problem.

Although Paranagama and Thissa Vitharana commissions undertook inquiries their reports not been published so far. Action should be taken to obtain these official reports, because people are unaware of how their testimonies had been recorded in them.

No official data has been collected on the missing people so far. It was discussed as to how these data could be obtained. Some data were submitted in this meeting. I shall use these data in my future meetings with the President, he said.
