Don’t disturb Mulliwaikkal Commemoration & Opposition to President’s visit to Mulliwaikal
NPC Member M.K.Sivajilingam has put out a call for all to come forward to observe the Genocide committed on Tamil people by the Sri Lanka Government as the Mulliwaikkal Commemoration week and had insisted that the President should avoid coming to Mulliwaikkal during the Mulliwaikkal Commemoration week and warned that if he will come to Mulliwaikkal they will undertake struggles calling the President to get out from Mulliwaikkal.
M.K.Sivajilingam, along with the NPC member of Vavuniya District, Thiyagarajah and Kilinochchi District, Pasupathypillai, held a press conference at the Jaffna Press Club, yesterday at around 2.00 p.m.
Muliwaikkal Commemoration week is being held by Eelam Tamils globally from May 12th to May 18th to commemorate the genocide committed by the Sri Lankan Government and its Armed Forces. The NPC also had decided to commemorate this week this time. Thus the first day of the Mulliwaikkal week will be held at the very site of genocide committed by Chandrika, at Chemmany.
The Commemoration will be held in the East on the 13th and on the 14th at the site of the “Vaddukoddai Resolution”, and at the St.Peter’s Church premises and on the 15th at the memorial tower for Kumuthiny Vitims, who included children.
On 18th, the final day the commemoration will be held at mulliwaikkal presided by NPC CM, C.V.Wigneswaran.
While the Tamil people is commemorating the day, the President Maithripala who gave all possible support to the genocide against the Tamils is scheduled to visit Mulliwaikkal on 18th. He should cancel the trip. If he does not, we will rally the people and undertake struggles against him, he said.
