Mullikulam people in Church despite their own land has been released

The Mullikulam Parish priest, Rev.fr. Anton Thavarasa  said that although 10 days have passed after the lands of the Mullikulam people were released, they are still staying in the church premises without being able to settle in their own lands.

Although it was said by the Navy that the people could settle in their lands after two days the activities for allowing the people to settle in are being dragged on on a slowed down pace which have caused much mistrust among people.

Currently the people are staying in Mullikulam church. They are unable to undertake their routine life. Adequate sanitary facilities or drinking water supplied to them. Action should be taken to resettle them as promised. High level officers should take speedy action in this regard, he said.
