Vavuniya High Court condemn 5 to death in 3 cases
Vavuniya High Court yesterday passed death sentence on 5 murder accused in 3 cases. A father and his two sons were among the condemned accused.
First case was the murder of Kanthasamy Suganthan (aged 24) by stabbing at Suntharapuram in 2006, and causing grievous injury to Supramanium Sinnaraj and father and his two sons were the accused in this case.
2nd case was the murder and robbery of gold jeweler Sivakumar Indumathy (aged 19)at Sasthrikoolangkulam in 2008. The accused in this case is Viswanathan Kanagamanoharan (aged 30)
In the 3rd case an Ice Cream merchant Nilamearachchilage Tharmakeerthy was murdered by burning at Vavuniya and Jayakody Arachilage Rohini Thamayanthy(aged 50) was the accused.
The satisfied with the offences being proved beyond doubt and sentenced the accused to Death.
Wailing of the relatives of the condemned filled the court and police had remove them out.
