Arsonist torch Muslim Mosque. Trincomalee in Heavy tension

The Jummah Mosque of Periyakadai  in Harbour police area in Trincomalee was burned down by arsonist between 11.00 pm on day before yesterday to 3.00 a.m. yesterday. The road lamps had been switched off within this 4 hours.

In a context where the original mosque is being re-constructed, worship was being temporarily conducted in this hut. The attack had been held on this mosque. The worship mats inside the mosque had been burned completely.

The Eastern CM, Habbis Naseer Ahmed had ordered the police to hold inquiries and submit inquiries about the incident and bring the culprits to book.
