Northern Provincial Council crisis averted 

The NPC Chief Minister has insisted that on the basis of the promise of the Chief Priest of Nallai Atheenam, the Bishop of Jaffna Diocese,  and the Leaders of the constituents parties to speak to the two accused Ministers and obtain the assurance from them that, they will neither destroy  any evidence  relevant to them  nor threaten the witnesses against them, that he will not insist on the accused ministers going on leave.

The religious dignitaries who met the CM today morning and the Leaders of the constituents parties, who met him yesterday evening had given this promise.

On the basis of this, the CM has written a letter to Era Sampanthan,  indicating his decision.
