CM appoints a committee of four, to investigate the other two Ministers

The CM has appointed a committee of four like the earlier Committee which found two Ministers guilty of the Charges laid against them. Retired Justice S.Thiagendran who led the old Committee will lead the new Committee too.

In fact the earlier Committee was appointed to investigate all four Ministers. But Ministers P. Deneeswaran and P. Sathiyalingam were exonerated by the Committee since the complainants were not present during the investigation. However, the CM, while asking two Ministers found guilty to resign and announced that fresh investigation will be conducted against the above said ministers.

The Leader of the TNA, Sampanthan had earlier requested that the new investigation should be legally constituted and be independent. The CM also had acceded to his position. It is in this context that the new committee was appointed with new members.
