Sentimental Chenchcholai Commemoration at several Places

The 11th commemoration event of the 61 school children killed in 14.08.2006 Chenchcholai Massacre was held at the former Chencholai premises, yesterday. Hundreds of people including MNPs, MPcs, politicians and public participated in the event and paid their homage to the killed students.

Commemoration at the University of Jaffna

The deaths of the school children massacred by aerial bombing of Chenchcholai premises by Kabir jets of the SL Government were commemorated in the University of Jaffna premises under aegis of the University students.

Vice Chancellor Professor R.Wigneswaran lighted the main sacrificial flame.

Commemoration at Baticaloa

The 11th commemoration of the Chenchcholai massacre victims was sentimentally held in the COPE centre in  Baticaloa.

Organised by the Tamil National People Front and Tamil Congress, it was commenced with lighting memorial flames at around 11a.m.

61 school students were killed and more than  150 school students were injured in the aerial attack made by Sri Lankan Air Force on 14.08.2006 at around 7a.m.

This commemoration was undertaken demanding justice for the killed students and for the peace of the  souls of the Killed students, the TNPF said.
