Murder in Custody Case witness threatened wife life at Anuradhapura prison, Judge orders to tighten security for the Witness

A witness of the Police Station detention murder case complained to the Kayts judge that he had been threatened with life at the Anuradhapura Prison and the judge ordered the Prison Officials to tighten the security of the witness.

He is a witness in the murder case of one Sumanan who was murdered in the custody of  Chunnakam . The accused in the said case including the then OIC of Chunnakam Police are now serving prison terms in the Anuradhapura Prison.

The witness is serving prison term for a maintenance case at Welikade. He was brought from Welikade and put in transit at the Anuradhapura Prison. He said that some unidentified persons threatened him with life. The judge ordered that the security of the witness should be tightened.
