Problem in Arnold being elected to Mayoralty: EPDP backs out from supporting Arnold
In a context where the TNA has decided to appoint Emmanuel Arnold as the Mayor, problems have appeared in him being selected as the Mayor.
While no party had gained an absolute majority, the TNA had announced that they will claim the right to form the government in the JMC. It was decided by the TNA Leadership the Arnold will take over Mayoralty.
However, dissatisfaction has developed among the members elected on behalf of EPDP, which with 10 seats has become the ‘King maker’ in the JMC, against the selection of Arnold as the Mayor. Majority of the EPDP members are dissatisfied about Arnold.
Commenting on situation the Leader of EPDP said that their members are less confident and dissatisfied about Arnold’s selection. Hence the party will discuss the matter and decide on whether the party will take a decision or allow the members to vote secretly during Mayoral election. While the TNA leadership is suggesting that EPDP will support from outside, some 2nd level leaders of TNA had openly expressing their opinion that the policy of our party is different from that of EPDP. TNA will not form the government at the mercy of the EPDP.
In the midst of dissatisfaction of EPDP members and the strong opposition of the 2nd level Leaders of TNA, the election of Arnold has run into difficulties.
