TNPF announce that it is ready to cooperate with TNA against Southern Parties

A situation exists where the governance of the Pradeshiya Sabais of Karaveddy in Jaffana and the Vavuniya North of Vavuniya going into the hands of Southern political parties. The TNPF will provide support for TNA to form the government in these two Pradeshiya sabai,it is learnt.

We will not allow Chauvinist parties to form government in Tamil soil. If any such context is formed, we support for Tamils to form the Government. Even it is TNA we will support them with the interest of Tamil Nation in mind, said the spokesman for TNPF.

TNA had won 9 seats in Karaveddy Pradeshiya Sabai and TNPF and SLFP 6 each, EPDP and TULF 3 each, and UNP 2 seats. SLFP is trying to form the government here and negotiating with  other parties.

Meanwhile in Vavuniya North 12 of the 26 members are Sinhalese. The party situation is TNA -8, TULF and TNPF 3 each

It is in this context the TNPF has announced that they will support TNA to prevent southern parties from forming government.
