No-confidence against Ranil – The TNA is expected to support Ranil

In a context where the no-confidence motion is to be taken up in the Parliament today, it expected that TNA will vote to safeguard Ranil and make him continue in the thrown. The meeting of the TNA Parliamentary group was held yesterday at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, presided by Era Sampanthan, the Opposition leader.

During this meeting several MPs had strongly insisted that the TNA should not vote for Ranil. The Party leadership was all the time moving their prawns with the expectation that all TNA members should vote for Ranil. Said several MPs who participated in the meeting. These MPs had promoted TNA keeping neutral.

However the leadership had repeatedly insisted that, it is not for Ranil but to keep the Coalition government t in power without  being caught in the prawn moving by Mahindha and have the power delivered to him on a platter. Although, few members continued to insist that TNA Should not vote for Ranil, the Leadership had said that the decision will be taken today, without giving any consideration to their opinion.

They have decided to back Ranil. This meeting is for through others. They are not ready to listen to our voices, however much we shout louder. The TNA will definitely take decision tomorrow to support  Ranil, one of these had said.

The meeting had taken place in two sessions but no decision was reached. T.Siththarthan, Sivanesan and Sivasakthy Ananthan did not participate in this meeting.
