“Thiyaga Theepam” Thileepan’s Memorial being renovated, by Jaffna Municipal Council

Activities have been commenced to renovate  the Memorial of “Thiyaga Theepam” Thileepan. Thiygi Thileepan sacrificed himself by under taking a ‘Fast unto Death” for winning the Political Liberation of the Tamils, in what is considered as the  ‘Ultimate Political Form’ of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.

Preliminary work has commenced to construct the memorial in the same old form and at the same location. These tasks have been commenced by the Jaffna Municipality Council.

In a context where the TNA had captured the administration of the council, this task has been undertaken as their first official Task.
