The youths who were taken into the Army Camp did not come out- Testimony in the Siruppiddy case

The Army men took the two youths into the Siruppiddy Army Camp. I saw this with my own eyes. I waited there for some time for them to come out. But, they never came, testified a woman, in the case of abducting 2 youth and murdering them.

Two youths were abducted and killed at  Siruppiddy by the Army. This case came before Judge C. Sathistharan at the Jaffna Magistrate court for non-summary inquiry yesterday.

5 suspects were present in the court with one suspect dead. State Counsel Nagaratnam Nishanth appeared for the prosecution. Of the 14 witnesses in the case testimonies of 7 were recorded yesterday and the court set the recording other testimonies to the 15th.

A woman said in her testimony that, the two youths were travelling on bicycles, and the Army stopped them ant led into the camp. I waited there to see what is happening. The youth did not come out. Inquiries were undertaken in 1996 itself and the gold chain and watch worn by one of the said youth were recovered by Military Police from within the camp. Parts of the bicycles of the youth were also recovered from the camp. These had been produced as evidence in the case.
