The Good Governance is only earning the opposition of the people, says former Eastern CM, Naseer
Deputy Leader of the SLMC and the former CM of Eastern Province, Naseer Ahmed said yesterday that, by postponing the PC elections the Good Governance in continually earning the opposition of the people. He said this while speaking to the media.
I have continued to insist that the power of deciding about the PC elections should granted to the respective PC. To a situation exists where the PCs could be kicked around by the Central Government. People had granted the power to handle the PCs unilaterally and authoritatively. I would like to insist here that this is a undemocratic act.
The power to conduct the PC elections either within its term of Office or at the end of it should be given to the respective PC. A Constitution is best when the Central may intervene if the PC keep dragging on. The Government should come forward to hold the PC elections in the old method. If the Government will postpone it or delay it saying the elections will be held in the new method, we will be forced to get into the roads and struggle, he warned.
