Mannar Sathosa Mass grave – Victims clubbed to death and buried ?

In a context where the excavations for human remains continuing for the 42^nd day yesterday, the experts engaged in excavations said that there are fracture marks to be seen on the human remains suggesting that the victims had been attacked with sharp weapons.

However, no gunshot marks are found on all the skeletons recovered so far, they said.

Speaking to the media after the excavations, they said 5 skeletons of small children also had been found in the mass grave.

Studies in the mass grave had revealed that the dead bodies had been hastily buried in an un-orderly manner, said Prof. Raj Somadeva. He also said that it had not been found out as to in which period these corpses had been buried.
