Father of 5 children knocked down Army Truck and died on spot
A father of 5 children travelling on a motorbike died on the spot when his motor cycle was hit by an Army truck.
This incident had occurred in Kilinochchi yesterday, between Iranaimadu and 155th Mile post, on A9.
A father of 5 children, K.Kuganeswaran, aged 51 years from Bharathypuram, who was travelling on a motor cycle from Kilinochch town to Iranaimadu was hit by an Army truck which went out of control and was killed on the spot.
A tense situation prevailed in the area, with large number of people accumulating there. Traffic on A9 was blocked for some time.
The police who was informed of the incident sped to the spot and brought the situation under control. The corpse of the killed man was recovered from under the vehicle and handed it over to Kilinochchi Hospital for Postmortem. The vehicles involved in the accident were taken to Kilinochchi police. Police is proceeding with further inquiries.
