Massive Anti- Mahaweli Authority Protest struggle in Mulaitheevu today : Support  galore from all around

One of the Co-chairs of the Anti-Mahaweli L Zone Heritage council said that their protest activity against Mahaweli today in Mulaitheevu will a massive people struggle.

Elaborating further he said,” Our Protest Rally today will start at 11.00 a.m. in front of the Catholic church at PWD Junction and will proceed first to the District Secretariat and after handing over the memorandum to the GA, a meeting will be held at the Pradeshiya Saba grounds.

People from various parts of North will participate in our struggle. In a context where political parties and  several public Organizations had pledged their support to us, their representatives and the members along with members of Parliament and Provincial Council are to participate in this massive struggle. We expect that at least 3,000 people will participate in this Rally. Through this our struggle will transform into a people’s struggle.

The party stalwarts are to express their opinion in the meeting to be held in the PS ground. In the meantime, it is notable that the TNA MPs who had participated in the President’s Task Force for Development of NE also have travelled to North to participate in the rally.
