Will the International Community will understand the longings of our children?  Relatives of Missing ask

An attention drawing Rally and a protest demonstration of the relatives of the missing was held yesterday, at Batticaloa, calling the international community to understand the longings of the children of the missing persons and come forward to help.

The said rally and demonstration was held yesterday, the International Day of the Children.

This struggle was undertaken under the aegis of  Batticaloa District Society for people made to disappear and started from the Small hospital to  end up at the Ghandhi Park.  Following the Rally an attention drawing struggle was undertaken with children demanding to hand over their fathers to them.

At the same time elders demanded that the International Community to exert pressure on Sri Lanka Government to provide proper response regarding their kith and kin.

It is notable that the relatives of missing from all areas of North and East participated in this struggle.
