Yesterday’s talks on TPP’s release fizzled out –  Government refuse to release 3 , who got their case transferred to Vavuniya

Yesterdays talks on the release of the TPPs had fizzled out with the Government refusing to release 3 TPPs, Thiruvarul, Sulaxan and Tharsan, who fought and got there cases transferred from Anurqadhapura, to Vavuniya Court, while saying that 2 of the fasting TPPs could be released after rehabilitation and the cases of the other three will be expedited.

TNA MP, Sumanthiran held talks regarding TPPs in all prisons with Minister of Justice Thalatha Athukorale and Attorney General Jayantha Jeyasooriya yesterday.

The Attorney General had said that a decision had been taken not to accede to the demands of 3 TPPs who got their case transferred from Anuradhapura courts to Vavuniya court. They had committed serious crimes the AG had said.

Meanwhile TNA’s Sampanthan and Sumanthiran are scheduled to meet the President today, regarding more than 100 Poralis, who have been already sentenced, including the 4 sentenced yesterday by the High Court.
