Sampanthan say to British Minister: Power devolution should be granted through new Constitution
The TNA leader Era Sampanthan had said to the Minister for the Asia and Pacific Region, Mark Field, that the long term demand of the Tamil people should be granted through the new Constitution.
The British Minister for Asia and Pacific regions, Mark Field who is on a visit to Sri Lanka had met Era Sampanthan yesterday.
Elaborating further sampanthan had said that
* compared to the previous Government, there is a change in the activities of this government.
* Considerable delay is seen in matters like, Land problem, TPPs, and persons made to disappear.
* The commission for finding the truth had not been formed yet.
* The demand of Power Devolution of the Tamil People should be solved through a new constitution.
Sampanthan also said that we are expecting a solution within undivided and undividable country and that people had granted their mandate for this.
In this meeting, which lasted for around 1 ½ hours, the British Ambassador, James Doris and the Embassy officials also participated.
