AAL Remidius accuses in open court that the Kopay Police created the Aawaa group
The senior Attorney at law , Mudiyappu Remidius accused in a hard tone in open court that the Aawaa Group was created by the Kopay Police. They are same persons who placed a grenade in a place where no banana plantation was available and filed a case charging that the grenade was found in a banana plantation. The suspects produced by them are innocents. They should be released on bail , he said.
4 youths were charged in the Jaffna Magistrate Court for attacking and injuring a youth at Aadiyapatham Road coming under Kopay police. All four were in remand till yesterday.
In applying for bail, AAL Remidius submitted that the Kopay police used confrontation between youth groups and created the Aawaa Grouch which is the root cause of the violence prevailing in the North. They are same persons who placed a grenade in a place where no banana plantation was available and filed a case charging that the grenade was found in a banana plantation. The suspects produced by them are innocents. They should be released on bail, he said.
The Actg. Magistrate, after hearing the submissions ordered that, a bail application be filed before the Chief Magistrate and remanded the suspect till 25th.'[=
