TNA will go to courts against Maithri who has made the Constitution into a comedy, says Sumanthiran

The Spokesman of TNA and former MP, M.A.Sumanthiran said that the TNA will go to courts, against the dissolution of the Parliament contravening the Constitution.

We are sad that the parliament has been dissolved in contravention to the Constitution and un-democratically. It is an anti-democratic act that the president had dissolved the parliament in breach of Constitution. We cannot accept this kind of conspiracy. That is why we have decided to go to the courts.

We understood that, apart from our party, several other parties including UNP, SLMC, ACPC and Tamil Progressive Alliance, have gone to the courts in opposition to this conspiracy, said Sumantrhiran.

We are ready to face the election at any time. But we are going to courts against the activities in contravention to the Constitution. This is serious. As per the 19 amendment, the President has no power to dissolve the parliament before it completing at least 4 ½  years of its Term. Dissolving the Parliament before completing the period will need 2/3 majority decision.

There was a legal necessity for the Prime Minister to prove his majority. But delaying tactics were undertaken to delay this and bait opposition to the government side. However the parliament  has been dissolved when it became clear that Mahindha could not prove his majority, said Sumanthiran.
