Group for finding out the missing holds an attention drawing demonstration in Nallur

An attention drawing protest was held in Jaffna yesterday, requesting the US President to take action to save the Tamil people from the Genocide perpetrated by the Sinhalese in Tamil Home Lands and a memorandum was also handed over  at the end of the protest.

This demonstration was held in Nallur, Jaffna , by the Group for finding out the missing, with the continuous protest undertaken by the relatives of the Relatives of the Missing reaching its 631 day yesterday. Following no constructive action taken in view of the continuous struggle at Vavuniya, this protest had been held in Nallur. It had been also decided to hold the protest elsewhere. Their demands were that, the Government should  Account for people handed over and people who had gone missing, Release the persons handed over and who had gone missing.

They queried as to why the Tamil representatives keeping mum on this matter.

Further they have handed over a copy of the memorandum to the UN office in Jaffna. The demonstration moved through Temple Road to Navalar Road and the memorandum was handed over at the UN office in Navalar Road.

Relatives of the missing, public organizations and the public participated in this protest Rally.
