Mannar Mass Grave excavation will be resumed on 27th, says JMO, Chamintha Rajapakse

The Officer in charge of the excavations at the Mannar Mass grave, Chamintha Rajapakse said that the excavations will be resumed on the 27^th.

The said excavations were suddenly suspended on the 12^th without any prior notice.

Excavations were done on the 9^th for the 104^th time and was suspended for the week end, but was not resumed on Monday as announced.

Contacted over this the special JMO in charge of the excavations said that due exigencies of work elsewhere for him and the group engaged in excavations, the Sathosa excavation were suspended but will be resumed on 27^th.

Meanwhile he also said 235 skeletons had been identified and 229 of them had been removed for storage.
