Human remains with legs bound by steel wire recovered yesterday from Mannar Mass grave
Human remains suspected to be killed with legs bound by steel wire were recovered yesterday from the Mannar Sathosa mass grave.
The excavation work at the Mannar mass grave was undertaken yesterday for 112nd day yesterday under the supervision of special JMO, Chamintha Rajapakse.
Human remains, to make true the speculations put out to date, two different skeletons with legs bound by steel wire were detected from the mass grave yesterday.
All these days different ideas were put forward to the finds in the mass grave. Relatives of the missing have expressed concern that these skeletons could be their relative’s.
In this context, the finding of the skeletons with their legs bound together by steel wire has further confirmed the earlier speculations. Further a woman’s ring also has been recovered from this mass grave.
Suspicious human remains and evidences are being continued to be discovered from the mass grave at the Sathosa premises in Mannar.
To date 266 skeletons have been identified and 260 of them have been removed for storage at the Courts.
