Opening of Iranaimadu sluice gates by President:  Sritharan MP, boycotted event, but stood with the people

Opening of the sluice gates of the renovated Iranaimadu Tank by the President and handing over to people were held yesterday.

Although the Vanni District MP Srithran was present at the venue one hour before the President arrived at the venue, he did not participate in the event but stayed with the people. Along with him the Chairmen and members of Palai and Karaichchi Pradeshiya Sabas participated in the event. However, it was reported that he went off the venue as soon as the President opened sluice gates.

Meanwhile, although the Director of NP and the District Secretary had approached the MP and invited him to part take in the main event, he had declined the Invitation to participate, news from the spot said.
