Prime Minister Ranil consent for Jaffna Municipal Council’s proposal for Modern Town in Chemmany
The Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has agreed at a policy level for a proposal by Jaffna Municipal Council to establish a modern Town in an extent of 283 acres in Chemmany and had agreed to find the Financial Resources for it.
The Prime Minister who arrived yesterday at Jaffna yesterday on 3-day visit to the Northern Province, studied about the progress of the Northern Province. A meeting relevant to this was held yesterday at the District Secretariat.
During this meeting, Jaffna Mayor Emmanuel Arnold tabled a model draft and presented a copy of it to the Prime Minister. This modern Town plan is an excellent one. I congratulate the Mayor. Action will be taken to find the financial resources for the plan, he said.
