People demonstrate in Kilinochchi against PTA : Don’t depict people as Terrorists!

People from, Jaffna, Kilinochchi Mulaitheevu and Vavuniya Dirtricts demonstrated yesterday in Kilinochchi against PTA and CTA.

The Demonstration under the aegis of Kilinochchi commenced in front of the Old District Secretariat at around 10.30 a.m. The rally proceeded through the A9 Road, to the Depot Junction where an attention drawing demonstration was held.

People carried banners and placards and shouted slogans for making the people aware of the aspects that are detrimental to the interest of the people , in the PTA.

Following this they expressed their opinions to the Media.

*  In a context where the war had ended, the PTA should be repealed fully.

* The Government had formulated a new PTA to hoodwink the International Community.

*  there are sections which could affect people seriously.

* We don’t want such an Act.

* Our relatives went missing  and continuing to be in prison as TPPs,  just because this act was in force.

* New PTA will keep them in prison.

So, they said that, the PTA should be repealed completely.
