The price paid by our people for our rights is very high. In this context, accepting what the government gives as it is, is a betrayal of the sacrifices of the Youths, said Prof. Emeritus Sittampalam. A discussion to provide discourse on the solution proposals of TPC to the University students was held in the auditorium of the Jaffna University Library.

The Council was formed for winning the legitimate rights of the people with their contributions. Through that we are insisting the \government to grant the rights of the people. The sacrifices of our youth in the past had burdened the people with the duty of fighting for their own rights. Everyone in this country have the duty of presenting Tamil people with a sustainable solution in return to the sacrifices made by the Tamil people.

No former constitution did justice to the Tamil people. There is no question in the Federal solution is the only solution which will deliver justice to Tamil people. This was a term first used by the very architect of “Sinhala Only” , S.W.R.D.Bandaranayake in the 50s.

In the federal system the power devolution will  be well defined and no party will be able to grab the powers vested in the others. Now a good circumstance had dawned.  Let us utilize this situation to reach a  good solution, he said.
