Ainkaranesan sworn in as Acting Chief Minister of Northern Province
The Minister of Agriculture, P.Ainkaranesan was sworn in as the Acting Chief Minister of the Northern Provincial Council. He took over the responsibilities following the Chief Minister C.V.Wigneswaran embarking on a visit abroad.
The Chief Minister of the Northern Province , C.V. Wigneswaran has left for Canada and London. The Chief Minister had undertaken a private visit to London and will follow up with a visit to Canada to sign an agreement to develop Mullaitheevu, at the City of Markkam, in Canada.
The Chief Minister who had left yesterday will return to the country on the 19th.
In this context, Northern Province Minister of Agriculture, P Ainkaranesa has taken oaths in accordance with Constitution before Governor, Northern Province, Reginald Cooray, yesterday at around 11.45 a.m. yesterday.
Meanwhile, Northern Province Minister of Fisheries, P. Deneeswaran and some members will embark on a travel abroad shortly, it is learnt.
