Allow Inner City press journalist to cover events at UN – Attention drawing rally in Jaffna

An attention drawing protest rally was held yesterday calling the UN to allow the Inner City Press journalist  Matheve Lee who was raising questions about  Tamil people and the Missing persons, to cover  events at the UN.

Earlier he allowed to cover events at the UNHQ and a room was allocated for him at the UNHQ. Last week his ID card to enter the UNHQ  was withdrawn and he was expelled from his room.

The rally as held near Nallur temple and the protestors proceeded to the UN office and tried to hand over a memorandum there. But the officials there refused to accept it and asked the protesters to send the memorandum to their Colombo Office.
