Amidst Corona threat, Rural Economy Development meeting held at the Jaffna Secretariat

The first meeting of the Rural Economy Development Groups of Jaffna and Kilinochchi Districts, established for implementing the National Programme for the Development of Economy, was held yesterday at the District Secretariat, Jaffna.

The following matters were discussed in the meeting.

*Renovation of Main street in Delft,

* Priority has been given to improving Sea travel arrangement to Delft

* Priority has been given to improving Manipay – Karainagar , Puthur – Kantharodai Roads

* Paying the balance money to housing scheme beneficiaries

* Although the local government bodies erect street lamps, repairs have to effected by CEB and charges recovered by them

* The drinking water problem – Water from Iranamadu inadequate  and new resources to be studied
