Another Cyclone red alert for Northern coasts

The Met. Department has issued a red alert for another depression to people living in the Northern Coast from Kankesanthurai to Puttalam in the North west and to Trincomalee in the East.

The “PURVI” cyclone is positioned at a distance of 145 km.  to the North West of Mannar at 5.30 a.m. The wind speeds will vary between 55 – 75Km/hr along the coasts from Puttalam to Trincomalee through Kankesanthurai.

the people living along the coasts and especially the Fishermen should be vigilant, the Met. Department has warned.
