It is appropriate to punish intelligence Officers who files false cases rather than punishing TPPs, Sivamohan MP

The death of TPP, Thevakan is an evidence to show that the Government had surrendered to the Intelligence officers. The courts which punish public for false evidence, closes its eyes on intelligence officers who file false cases and prepare false evidence, said MP, Sivamohan, in his press release over the death of TPP, Thevakan, on Thursday  after being admitted to National Hospital Colombo.

Shanmuganathan Thevakan of Vuvuniya had been sentenced to two years in prison after being in prison for 10 years. Those who fought with LTTE directly against the Army are being honoured for collaborating with the Army. But innocent people are being punished for buying wire nails for LTTE.

The PTA should be revoked with immediate effect. All TPPs should be released on a General political pardon. Failing which the UN should carry out a referendum and give way to that self determination.
