Army Camp constructed in Urany Cemetery: Public lodge protest

The Army is engaged in constructing a new Army camp in the cemetery located in the recently released area in Urany. Following this the people of the area is demanding that the cemetery area and the lands of people adjoining it should be released.The Urany area adjoining sea was released recently for the use of the people. Action is being taken to to release another lot of lands in the same area. The areas in this location were released for the people use except the areas on the Army camps were standing.

In this context, The Army is engaged in constructing a new camp on the Urany cemetery which is a state land in extent of around 5 lachchams. As this cemetery is needed for people’s use, if the camp is established there it might cause problems later the people said.While saying that the Army should stop constructing the camp at the beginning itself and release the land, the area people had requested relevant officials to explain the  matter to the Army and  take action to release the land to the use of the people.
