Army Cruelty should be stopped else struggles will be undertaken, warns NPC members

The NPC members had warned that they will undertake struggles if the land grabbing and other cruelties of the Army are not stopped. A jungle rule is continuing now like the Army interventions in the Civil Administration, during the Mahindha regime.

The assault on the Grama Officier in Kokkilai clearly demonstrates this. Rajitha Senaratna who was the Minister of Fisheries in the Mahindha regime, declared publicly that only 52 Sinhala fishermen were given permits to do fishing in Mulaitheevu. At the same time although the current Minister of Fisheries ordered to expulse fishermen without permission, it had not been carried out. The order of a minister is not being carried clearly shows that a Military rule is prevailing in these parts of the country.

The army had been rooted here to destroy the cultural, religious identities and the economy of the Tamil people.

What is National Security?  Are there any countries to invade Sri Lanka? National security is being interpreted in a wrong manner. Army is trying to force an offensive against Tamil people. The Government is using this period to destroy the culture of the Tamil people under guise of reconciliation.

The TNA should take proper action regarding this, they have said.
