Army intervention in the Northern Civil Administration is on the increase, condemns the federation of Christian Fellowships
The Federation of Christian Fellowships had said that the Army intervention in the Northern Civil Administration is on an increasing trend and it had strongly condemned it and expressed opposition to it.
The Federation had insisted that the removal of the military presence is the urgent need today and that the Army should be removed immediately.
We strongly condemn the increase in the intervention of the Army in the Northern Civil Administration, only if the environment for everyone to live routine life is created the justice centered and rights related reconciliation will be established.
Southern fishermen are fishing in Mullaitheevu seas without any permission. Grama Officer Seevaratnam Jesuratnam had been assaulted and an Army Colonel had disgraced him. The southern fishermen and the Army had to respect the civil laws and procedures.
Army had already intervened in the Education Ministry by appointing Pre School teachers through Civil Security Force, making use of their economical weakness.
The State Civil Administration, Government Agent, Divisional Secretaries, Grama Officers, Police and the Courts should be allowed to operate without the intervention of the Army. This will be possible only if the Army is removed, they had said.
